Privacy, in plain language

This describes how the current version of Awaaz actually handles information. It is a plain-language summary; a full privacy notice reviewed by a lawyer will accompany public launch.

What stays on your device

Your profile (display name, age band, goals, language and preferences), your Speech Check results, practice history, reflections and any plans you add are stored in your browser on your device. Awaaz does not have an account server that holds them.

Clearing your browser data, or using Delete my profile in the app, removes them. They do not move to another device on their own.

What leaves your device

When you record a practice word or a Speech Check prompt, the audio is sent over an encrypted connection to the Awaaz scoring service with the target word. The service analyses it in memory, returns a result and does not keep the audio.

Our hosting providers keep standard technical request logs, such as the time of a request, for security and reliability. Awaaz does not use advertising or third-party analytics.

Recordings you choose to save

Recordings are not saved by default. If you choose to save one, it is stored in your browser on your device and deleted automatically after the period you choose: 7, 30 or 90 days (30 unless you change it).

  • Play, download or delete any saved recording in My Voice Recordings.
  • Delete all recordings at once in Profile, then Privacy.
  • Turn off saving at any time.

Sharing

Nothing is shared automatically. You can print or save a report and give it to someone yourself. Therapist plan links carry the plan inside the link; Awaaz does not store them.

Children

A parent or caregiver should set up and supervise a child’s profile. Children’s recordings follow the same rules: never public, saved only by choice, and deleted automatically. Children cannot be contacted through Awaaz.

Research

Awaaz does not use your recordings for research or to train models. If that ever changes, it will be a separate, clearly explained choice that you must opt into.

Your choices

  • Export your data as a file from Profile, then Privacy.
  • Delete individual recordings, a Speech Check or your whole profile.
  • Use Awaaz without recording at all, for reading and listening activities.
