Every voice has something to tell us.

Explore your speech through a short, guided experience. Awaaz will help you understand the information it can identify and discover suitable next steps.

  • Guided, one step at a time
  • Microphone required for recording
  • Results depend on recording quality and what the system supports

What happens during the check?

  1. 1 / 3

    Listen

You will see a word and can play an example before speaking, where one is available.

  2. 2 / 3

    Speak

Record yourself following the instructions. You can repeat a prompt when a recording didn’t work.

  3. 3 / 3

    Explore

Review your personalised speech profile and discover relevant next steps.

What will I receive?

Three things, none of which is a diagnosis.

My Speech Profile

An accessible summary of what the check could observe for each supported sound, including uncertainty and limits.

My Practice Plan

A small selection of activities linked to what was observed, with the reason each one was suggested.

My Progress

A place to review completed activities and, when a fair comparison is possible, a later check-in.

Before you begin

Time
We have not measured how long the check takes under real conditions yet, so we don’t quote a time. You can pause and come back.
Microphone
Your phone or laptop’s built-in microphone is fine. Headphones with a microphone help in noisy homes.
Internet
Each recording is scored online. If Awaaz can’t reach the scoring service, it tells you before you record.
Permission
Your browser will ask to use the microphone when the check needs it, not before.
Surroundings
A reasonably quiet room, about an arm’s length from the device, with the television off.

What you will say

The check uses everyday words and short phrases that we have already tested with the scoring system. One appears at a time.

English check, 13 prompts

  • Sun
  • Red
  • Leaf
  • Fish
  • Sock
  • Ring
  • Sheep
  • Rainbow
  • Elephant
  • Dinosaur
  • I see the sun
  • The red rabbit
  • A little lion

Urdu check, 9 prompts

  • شیر
  • بلی
  • توتا
  • گائے
  • بارش
  • تتلی
  • بادشاہ
  • شیر آیا
  • پیارا پرندہ

These sets are smaller than the 15 to 20 words we plan for. We only include words the system can score fairly.

What your results mean

What the check can tell you

  • Whether a supported sound came through as the system expected in the words you said.
  • Which sound the system heard instead, when that is clear.
  • Which recordings could not be analysed, and why.

What it cannot conclude

  • Whether you or your child has a speech disorder.
  • Anything about sounds outside this check, language understanding, voice, fluency or stammering.
  • How you speak in everyday conversation. A few recordings show one moment.

Your voice, your choice

What happens to your recordings, said plainly.

Why is audio recorded?

To compare how each word was said with the target word. Nothing else.

Is the audio stored?

The scoring service analyses each recording and does not keep it. On your device, a recording is saved only if you choose to save it.

Are recordings kept for later review?

Only the ones you save, and only for the period you choose (30 days unless you change it).

Who can access the information?

Your profile and results live in this browser on this device. Awaaz has no account server that holds them.

Can I share a report?

Yes. You can print or save a report as a PDF and decide who receives it.

How do I delete things?

Delete any recording, a whole check, or your entire profile from Profile, then Privacy.

Is my voice used for research?

No. Awaaz does not use your recordings for research or to train any model.

Ready when you are

Find a quiet spot. The check explains each step before it happens.
