Creating a calm practice environment

A quiet corner, a short time and a relaxed tone make practice easier for everyone.

Practice works best when it feels calm and predictable. You do not need a special room, just a few minutes where distractions are low.

  • Turn off the television and move away from busy rooms.
  • Hold the phone or tablet about an arm’s length away.
  • Pick a regular time, such as after school or after dinner.
  • Keep sessions short. Stopping while it is still going well helps next time.

Background noise also makes recordings harder for Awaaz to analyse, so a quieter space helps the feedback too.
